Join some of your favorite Local Leaders and talented community members at the Bedford Hills Community House on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 7:00 PM, as they perform a benefit reading of CONSCIENCE in support of Katonah Classic Stage.
Conscience transports audiences to the high-stakes world of 1950s Washington, D.C.. The play centers on the real-life confrontation between Senator Margaret Chase Smith, the first woman to serve in both houses of Congress, and the infamous Senator Joseph McCarthy. As McCarthy’s anti-Communist “witch hunt” gains momentum through fear and smear tactics, Smith must decide whether to remain silent with her party or risk her career to deliver her now-legendary “Declaration of Conscience” speech on the Senate floor.
Come laugh and listen with us as these public servants support the arts by showing off their acting chops.
